Professor Anthony Absalom
Workshop: Eleveld Model
Anthony (Tony) Absalom studied medicine at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and underwent specialist training in anaesthesia and intensive care in East Anglia and Scotland in the UK.
​
He has been Professor of Anaesthesiology at the UMCG, Netherlands since 2009. His clinical interests are procedural sedation, anaesthesia for neurosurgery, and intravenous anaesthesia techniques. His research interests are pharmacology and neuroscience. He is a former editor of the British Journal of Anaesthesia, and is now financial director of the BJA Company. Over the years he has been President of the Society for Intravenous Anaesthesia, vice-president of the World Society for Intravenous Anaesthesia, Chairman of the Neuroanaesthesia Section of the Dutch Association of Anaesthetists and Chair of the General Anaesthesia Scientific Sub-committee of the European Society of Anesthesiology.

Dr Liz Allison
Workshop: Paediatric TIVA
Liz Allison is a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at Sheffield Children's Hospital. Liz is a TIVA enthusiast and regularly delivers clinical lectures and interactive workshops on the subject of TIVA for children. She is a Faculty member for TIVA for Tots and part of a team who endeavour to make TIVA for children more achievable.
The anaesthetic department at Sheffield Children's Hospital have embraced TIVA in children and it is now the anaesthetic of choice for the majority of patients.
Dr Mark Barley
Workshop: Advanced pEEG
Mark is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust where he is both the equipment and airway leads. His clinical interests are anaesthesia for major head and neck surgery, upper GI and emergency surgery. As the Honorary Secretary of SIVA (the Society For Intravenous Anaesthesia) he is duty bound to be a TIVA DIVA. He’s a keen advocate of processed EEG for all patients receiving general anaesthesia and has delivered lectures and workshops regarding pEEG at both national and international conferences. When not lugging multiple pEEG, nociceptive and neuromuscular monitors around Nottinghamshire he’s trying to out-run and out-cycle middle age to maintain his brain health.

Dr Alistair Baxter
Workshop: Paediatric TIVA
I am a consultant paediatric anaesthetists with 25 years experience. Ive used TIVA since 1991 with the first diprifuser devices. I have experience in all aspects of paediatric anaesthesia, but especially in the managment of airways and minimally invasive surgery.
I love walking and cycling.
Dr Tom Blanks
Workshop: Advanced pEEG
Tom is a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist living and working in Nottingham. His clinical interests are anaesthesia for complex spinal surgery, neurosurgery and difficult airway management. He is particularly interested in advances within paediatric and neonatal anaesthesia particularly processed EEG monitoring, total intravenous anaesthesia and cerebral oximetry. More widely, he is deeply passionate about sustainability within anaesthesia and reducing healthcare outcome disparities between different populations.
Dr Peter Brooks
Workshop: Paediatric TIVA
Dr Peter Brooks has been a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in London since 2004. He is an expert on the use of total intravenous anaesthesia in children and is passionate about supporting others to introduce this technique into their practise safely for the benefit of their patients. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists and has previously been the Lead Training Program Director for the Imperial School of Anaesthesia in London. He has won awards for innovation from NHS England and the Association of Anaesthetists. He trained in London and undertook fellowships at Great Ormond Street Hospital and British Columbia's Children's Hospital in Vancouver.
Dr Myles Dowling
Workshop: Eleveld Model
Dr Dowling trained in the South West and East Midlands. He has been a Consultant since 2011 at Nottingham University Hospitals and has interests in Neuroanaesthesia, Orthopaedics and Trauma, Regional Anaesthesia, TIVA and Simulation.

Dr Todd Leckie
Workshop: TIVA for the FRCA
Todd is a an anaesthetics and ICM specialty trainee in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery. He founded the Sussex Primary FRCA MCQ Revision Course in 2019 and has been in a faculty member of the Sussex Final FRCA Written Revision Course since 2021. He is currently undertaking an MD investigating digital interventions to support prehabilitation.
Dr Andrew Ling
Workshop: An introduction to pEEG
I am a consultant obstetric and general anaesthetist in Leicester. I am College Tutor at Leicester Royal Infirmary. I have enjoyed running and teaching all things TIVA and pEGG at local courses and in theatre. I have invested much time in building business cases at our Trust for pumps and monitors. Out of work I enjoy playing and repairing electric and acoustic guitars as well as doing escape rooms with my wife and daughter.
Dr Thomas Mount
Workshop: TIVA for the FRCA
Tom trained in the North West and is now a consultant in Brighton, where he hosted the SIVA Conference in 2022. He has an interest in teaching, and co-founded FRCA Reveal and the Write Course in Sussex.

Dr Hugo Vereecke
Workshop: Eleveld Model
Dr. Hugo Vereecke, MD, PhD, became a medical doctor at the Ghent University, Belgium (1997) and consultant anesthesiologist (2002) at the University Hospital Ghent, Belgium. After finalizing his PhD Thesis (2007) on improving anesthetic drug titration using neuro-physiological monitoring, he proceeded an academic career at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) (2010-current), in The Netherlands, where he became an assistant professor in anesthesia (2012-current). He is involved in multiple projects related to anesthetic pharmacology. He currently combines his academic position with a clinical consultancy at the general hospital AZ Sint-Jan Brugge, Belgium (2016-current). He is an experienced lecturer and educator in his domain of expertise. He is co-promotor of several PhD’s and masterthesis. He volunteered in several professional societies and committees. He is a former president (2021-2022) of the International Society of Anaesthetic Pharmacology (ISAP) and is the lead of he pharmacology subcommitee (2024-current) of the European Society of Anesthesia and Intensive care (ESAIC) and board member of the EuroSIVA (2023-current).
Dr Susan Williams

​I am a consultant anaesthetist working at Northampton General Hospital. I've been on the SIVA committee since 2018 firstly as Trainee Representative and then as an elected Committee Member.
