Exeter is one of England’s oldest cities, with a history spanning over 2,000 years from its origins as the Roman settlement of Isca Dumnoniorum. Traces of its past remain visible today, including sections of the original Roman walls and a wealth of medieval architecture. Over time, Exeter grew into an important religious and trading centre, shaping the character of the city.
